Why IP databases disagree

Distinguish registration country, network operator, estimated location and update time while preserving traceable differences.

Similar fields can describe different things

RIR/RDAP describes registration and administration; ASN identifies a routing network; geolocation estimates where an address is used. A company registration country is not necessarily a visitor country.

Transfers, routing changes, tunnel exits and update delays can cause differences. The site preserves sources and times instead of forcing unlike fields into a majority-vote answer.

Submitting an actionable correction

Identify the field, source, observation time, current value and proposed value, with publicly verifiable evidence. Do not include passwords, API keys or unrelated personal data.

A correction ID tracks submission, review and handling. Submission does not overwrite measured facts. An upstream correction and a site annotation are different outcomes.

Interpretation example

If RDAP registration country differs from a geolocation city, preserve both meanings first. For a change in the same source and field, compare versions and timestamps. This is a workflow example, not an invented resolved ticket.
